Looks nice setting in the cradle. This hard drive case is a great way to get the use out of old drives or new drives for backup. Super easy to use and put together, usb connection and quiet.
Slide in your dirve and your good to go in five minutes. Includes screws and screwdriver.
Had it 1 month with 0 problems. Works exactly like it should. plain and simple.
This improvement would help when I tie in the cooling fan to the 12 volt supply so that I wouldn't have to unplug the power supply to kill the cooling fan.Disregarding these two issues I find that this hard drive enclosure matches up pretty well with other enclosures that I have purchased. I see no advantage to building these enclosures with such slim cases except to cause premature failure from over heating.Second: Another thing that I would like to see in an external drive is a switch that kills the 12 volts to the drive when the power switch is turned off. The switch on this enclosure only kills the 5 volt part of the power. This external hard drive enclosure works well but could stand some improvement, as most of these slim enclosures could use.First: ventilation would be a big improvement. They all failed within a year from overheating too. I plan to drill ventilation holes in each side of the case and attach a cooling fan to the outside to pull the heat out of the enclosure. As I have found with most of these external drive enclosures, they get very hot and this usually leads to premature failure of the interface board between the hard drive and the USB connection or the hard drive itself fails. One problem with this solution is that there is hardly any space between the sides of the case and the hard drive.
i hooked everything up flipped the switch,it worked for fifteen seconds till i turned it off then it never worked again. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST ENCLOSURE. the workmanship cheap, not worth even a penny. the connections are very poor, the AC connection wouldnt stay in. ive done dozens of enclosures. but this one is plain junk.
